The Friends of Winton Hills Academy Foundation notes changes in school personnel:

IMG_1487   After 17 years of outstanding leadership, Dr. Christina Russo is
retiring as principal of Winton Hills Academy. As this sign indicates,
she is much loved by the entire school family, both in the building and
and in the community at large. She was acknowledged as a valued
partner at the St. Xavier High School President’s Dinner. She was
honored at an all-school assembly with songs and skits by students,
testimony by former students, contributions to the scholarship fund in
her name, and a special video presentation. The following Saturday
over 200 people gathered in New Richmond for an event that
included a pig roast, games, a country music band, and tributes.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMr. Benjamin Fulton will follow Dr. Russo as the next principal of Winton Hills Academy. Fortunately, he has been serving as assistant principal at WHA for the second semester. This has given him the opportunity to experience first hand the culture of the school and to pick up first hand the way Dr. Russo has shaped and enhanced that culture. He has fallen in love with the people who make up the Winton Hills Academy community both within the school and in the surrounding neighborhood. He is excited about assuming his role over the summer and is looking forward to the start of the school year.

Ms. Kathy Painter is the new Resource Coordinator for Winton Hills Academy. She
inherits a flourishing program with many highly active partners and an array of programs.
She brings with her a strong set of skills and experiences that will enable her to build on
current features and to develop them with new elements. She is already on the job and is
becoming a familiar face around the halls, at school events, parent meetings, community
gatherings, and networking sessions.

I am a teacher who teaches year round. I love your school and wish to be placed on your email lst. My mom taught in a one room school during WWII and married my dad several years later. All three of us(me and my brothers) have always been taught the work ethic. Please allow me to be placed on your mailing list. I would love to become a friend. History was my major but I am also a Reading Tutor and the young ladies writing this book about the lady Civil Rights Activist is the kind of thing that I love. Fiction is nice but we need more non-fiction books by and written for all of us people of color. thanks. LJ Steele,MA
